BitNami Redmine Stack helps the deployment of Redmine, the web based project management application and its required dependencies. It can be deployed using a native installer, as a virtual machine, in the cloud or as a module on the already installed infrastructure stack.
Redmine is a flexible project management web application. Written using Ruby on Rails framework, it is a cross-platform and cross-database application. The Redmine stack facilitates installation of Redmine in several forms. These include as a native installer, as a virtual machine, in the cloud or as module over existing installation. The BitNami Stacks are completely self-contained and do not interfere with any software already installed on your system. When finished installing, the whole stack will be integrated, configured and ready to go. The Stacks can be installed in any directory. You can have, thus, multiple instances of the same stack running. None of the instances will clash with another in the system.
Working with the Redmine project management tool, the suite provides flexible support to your project management needs. When you are a project management professional, the settings required for the stack installation are easy to understand. The product suite brings in capabilities such as multiple projects support that allow flexible role based access to the software. Issue tracking, Gantt charts, calendar, news, documents and files management are available. The tool also provides a wiki and a forum for effective interactions. Email notifications and new information publication feeds are also provided. Source code management, an important function of software management, is also available through SVN or CVS or Mercurial or Darcs. Together you have quite a sophisticated support for software projects available here.
